Reason # 57 Visual Aid Series: the 300 PLUS

Enough now with the Titles, Trophies, and Training—Be a Little More Modest, You Might Say! 
And you’re right. But then again,  we all know that One "T" is missing namely; Die TROUES!!!





Hence, I need to start to wrap up this Visual Aid series with something special—an illustration of what 300 couples would look like if photographed together. Sounds like one of those mass weddings you’ve heard about in the Mormon church or in Japan, doesn’t it?

Well, in a way, that’s my story too. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of facilitating the weddings of about 300 couples—and counting. Yes it started with a special ceremony for my friend. Then followed family members, colleagues, later kids of colleagues, clients, friends, friends of friends. Students. Friends of students. Attendees at some of my services etc. etc...

What began as a simple favor for a close friend, just a once-off gesture, turned into a steady flow of blessings and my small contribution to making a beautiful day even more special for so many couples in love.

And within this little blessing lies a bigger truth: what is meant for us will never miss us. You see, when I was just six years old, I knew deep down that one day I would conduct countless weddings. That’s why I started off studying Theology. When I later decided not to become a Dominee, many thought that dream had ended. But when something is written in your DNA—your very soul code—it finds a way. And step by step, a beautiful alternative path unfolded.

It all began many moons ago when my friend Albert paid me a visit and said: “I want to get married—jy kan mos mense trou…” And the rest, as they say, is history.



But here’s the best part: this year, I will have the incredible privilege of conducting the wedding of my own son, Jeandre, and his lovely bride-to-be, Nancy. And next year—God willing—I will walk my precious daughter down the aisle. 

My life is truly, deeply blessed.

Reason # 2 House Rules & STORY TELLING

The Gratitude Journey Journal This is going to be quite a journey— which I intend to keep super short at times, because this is not the book YET… ha ha! ( As if my life is really interesting enough to write a novel about.) Still, life is always    a precious gift, and I do have quite a few stories to tell... Well, I can’t fault them on that one, because storytelling is an integral part of my life. Maybe it started back when I was a teenager, and the favourite storyteller to my siblings’ young kids. Reason # 3 Each life is a GIFT - whether you are a "BONT", BLACK or WHITE sheep

  One of the 60 things I daily celebrate, is the fact that every life is such a gift - hence I  don't really fancy the celebrity culture of our age very much.... Instead I rather want to CELEBRATE each life! Because I think that each person is a gift to the world. You carry a talent, a gift, that is just right for what the planet needs at a time like this - YES YOU!!. Hence, I don't believe in clever or less clever people - I think we are all talented with the right attributes, in the right measure - we have within us all the "things" we need for the story/experience (#SoulReasons) of this lifetime... Each life is a quiet miracle, sacred not for its visibility but for its very being.
