Reason # 12 The 60+

In our daily lives, we interact with a variety of people who play different roles in our personal, social, and professional worlds. From family members and close friends to colleagues and neighbors, each relationship brings its own unique connection and significance. Understanding these roles—whether it’s a soul mate, a lover, a coworker, a mentor, or a student—helps us appreciate the diverse ways people influence and support us. This overview provides clear, concise definitions of some common terms used to describe these important relationships and roles:




Soul mates: Two people believed to be deeply connected on a spiritual or emotional level, often seen as destined to be together.

Twin souls: Two individuals who share the same soul split into two bodies, believed to mirror each other deeply and help each other grow spiritually through intense connection and challenges.

Twin flames: A concept where two people are thought to share one soul split into two, creating a powerful, often intense relationship that drives personal growth, healing, and spiritual awakening.

Lover: A person with whom one has a romantic relationship, often marked by affection, passion, and emotional connection.

Spouse: A person’s legally married partner, either husband or wife.

Peer: A person who is equal to another in age, status, ability, or experience, often within the same social or professional group.

Colleague: A person you work with, typically in a professional or academic setting, who may or may not share the same duties or rank.

Influencer: A person who has the power to affect the opinions or behaviors of others, especially on social media, often due to their popularity, expertise, or credibility in a particular field.

BFF: Abbreviation for "Best Friend Forever," referring to a person’s closest and most trusted friend.

Teacher/Professor: A person who educates or instructs others, usually in a school or learning environment.

Roommate: A person who shares a living space, such as a bedroom or apartment, with you, usually for convenience or financial reasons.

Student: A person who is learning, typically enrolled in a school, college, or other educational program.

Neighbor: A person who lives near or next to your home, often within the same community or neighborhood.

Co-seeker of truth: Someone who, alongside you, actively pursues understanding, knowledge, or deeper meaning, often through questioning, exploring, and learning together.

Soul people: Individuals who connect deeply on an emotional, spiritual, or soulful level, often sharing mutual understanding, empathy, and a strong sense of kinship beyond surface-level relationships.

Reason # 2 House Rules & STORY TELLING

The Gratitude Journey Journal This is going to be quite a journey— which I intend to keep super short at times, because this is not the book YET… ha ha! ( As if my life is really interesting enough to write a novel about.) Still, life is always    a precious gift, and I do have quite a few stories to tell... Once, when I asked my children to give a one- sentence summary of how they see me, they said: " Jy is ' n storieverteller, Pappa!" Well, I can’t fault them on that one, because storytelling is an integral part of my life. Maybe it started back when I was a teenager, and the favourite storyteller to my siblings’ young kids. The briefing was always the same and always short: " Ons gee vir jou ' n sin, en dan moet jy die res vertel..." And so, many a story began. Reason # 3 Each life is a GIFT - whether you are a "BONT", BLACK or WHITE sheep

  One of the 60 things I daily celebrate, is the fact that every life is such a gift - hence I  don't really fancy the celebrity culture of our age very much.... Instead I rather want to CELEBRATE each life! Because I think that each person is a gift to the world. You carry a talent, a gift, that is just right for what the planet needs at a time like this - YES YOU!!. Hence, I don't believe in clever or less clever people - I think we are all talented with the right attributes, in the right measure - we have within us all the "things" we need for the story/experience (#SoulReasons) of this lifetime... Each life is a quiet miracle, sacred not for its visibility but for its very being. In a culture that elevates celebrities and public achievement, it's easy to forget that worth is not measured by spotlight or applause.
