Reason # 26 CURRENT Projects
As we reflected yesterday on projects of the
past, I think it is equally important to celebrate some exciting projects in progress in 2025.
I am presently involved in the development cum presentation of a Dual CMI Degree/Diploma program in collaboration with several universities and
training institutions. I have been rolling out this program with the CMI program since 2012. We are very fortunate to have negotiated Articulation agreements with various overseas Colleges and Universities. The core aim of this initiative is to restructure the
traditional model of student engagement — shifting from a 99:1
campus-to-practice ratio to a much more practice-oriented 20:80 ratio,
allowing students to spend significantly more time gaining real-world
experience. All CMI students are employed and engaged in upskilling programs so that is a natural and easy fit.
In parallel, we are developing an innovative credit
accumulation and points system called “EXIT-Levels”. This will allow
students to build up academic credits year by year toward exit levels (Credits
only/Certificate/Diploma/Degree etc.), making it easier for them to transition
into other Dual Degree or Associated academic pathways.
We are also working on a “NEXIT” program, designed as
a continuation of the Exit system, with a particular focus on incorporating established
management qualifications as part of the next academic or career
development (CPD) phase.
Another major area of focus is widening access to
post-secondary education. We are actively assisting students who need to
obtain or improve their matric results in order to gain access to university
and other higher education programs.
As an Associate Professor, I have the privilege of
supporting the Leaders Student Group of CEF SAIOR as Moderator in
obtaining their Chartered Management Institute (CMI) accreditation at the
Master’s level, also through a Dual Articulation Program model. Their Focus is Social
Programs and Leadership Development.
At the ULC/ISAE Seminary, we are guiding several visiting students
toward Master’s degrees in Social Programs, with a strong emphasis on Social Development and Entrepreneurship, once again through the flexible and impactful Dual
Program framework.
Presenting a series of Master Classes became a new
Project for me this year. Master Classes include:

Finally, we are investing in the development of a new
Cultural Studies program, anchored in the context of contemporary South
Africa. This initiative includes aiding in curating and strengthening the
archive of the former Afrikaans Cultural History department, ensuring
that this vital cultural knowledge and heritage remain part of the academic
conversation, albeit via external programs and institutions.
